It appears to me that the advertising industry values the reverend T-Shirt as a profitable venue for their products. Sayings of the day, cars, rock stars, protesters, just about every area of life finds its way onto a T-Shirt.
Having lived in warmer climates for a number of years, I have graced the ol' bod with various of these, even ones with religious promos, because of the printing, color, or picture that expressed to some extent what I wanted to say also.
While thinking on this phenomenon of the T-Shirt for a moment, I can only remember two of these T-Shirts that ever prompted a comment. The first ever is one that promotes a sandwich shop named, "Curious Dog." This happens to be owned by two imaginative sons of Shirley and me. They have as a result served customers from all over the country that are passing through their city. The T-Shirt is doing its job.
The second T-Shirt that has prompted a response or query is the same color. It's the one you see that I am wearing in the photograph above, "Need prayer? Ask Me." Folks have approached me to comment or make a request in varied places -- grocery stores, airports, cafes, even Wal-Mart.
In my experience, many folks are hesitant to ask for prayer as it might indicate a weakness in their life. But, when you catch them staring at your T-Shirt that says, "Need prayer? Ask me," I believe you have an open door to ask them if they would like you to pray for something for them. It happens for me.
"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (James 5:16).
God bless you all.
With love and respect,
Ray and Shirley
